What's with these Bear Codes?

The bear codes are very subjective.  For example, e++ was previously described as being "so well endowed it would even impress a STRAIGHT man".  However, they are just a fun way to quickly describe ourselves to each other in signatures, on web pages and in listserv postings.  Sometimes the best way to find out what the bear codes mean is just to ask the bear and hope he doesn't bite!

Here is a sample (not my code):

b is for BEARD... and is followed by a number ranging from 0 (no beard), one a mustache, two a goatee, third a short trimmed beard to 9 (down to your balls).

The rest of the codes may be followed by these indicators:

  ++           = lots of OR very [blank]
  +            = above average [blank]
  no indicator = average [blank]
  -            = below average [blank]
  --           = very little [blank]
And those codes are: 
  f  for FUR
  t  for TALLNESS (HEIGHT to you and me)
  w  for WEIGHT
  c  for CUB
  d  for DADDY
  g  for GROPE (the amount one likes to be pawed)
  k  for KINKY
  s  for SEX (OK, SLUT)
  m  for MUSCLE
  e  for ENDOWMENT (for the size queens)
  h  for BEHRS (no beard, but still a bear)
  r  for RUGGED (outdoorsmen, not toupees)
  p  for PECULIAR (aren't we all?)
  q  for QUEEN (yes, I said it, QUEEN)
The following add-ons may also appear:
  v  when the trait varies with time or individual
  ?  for traits where the value is guessed
  :  for traits which are observed but uncertain
  !  when the trait is the ultimate in bear fantasy
  () for indicating "cross-overs" or ranges
